MY THOUGHTS ON THE FASTERWAY TO FAT LOSS PROGRAM

I decided to put into writing my experience with FASTerway to Fat Loss and hopefully answer questions for anyone who is thinking about joining in.

WHY DID I TRY FWTFL?

At the beginning of this year I knew I wanted to “get in shape” for our wedding. The thing is, I know how to workout. I actually love activity so that has never been my issue. Nutrition has always been the head scratcher for me. I’ve tried every diet under the sun I swear. The only thing I knew to do was cut calories and workout more. I lost a few pounds doing that but with so little food (900-1000) calories I wasn’t sleeping well, I was exhausted and cranky and I wasn’t actually seeing results. Sure the scale moved a few pounds but I wanted my body to change and look good. I had dabbled in counting macros before and honestly just didn’t ever take the time to really key in. I think it was because I wasn’t informed. Being educated on nutrition was the primary draw to FWTFL for me. The second biggest draw was the accountability and community. There are so many other women you get to speak to on a daily basis that are in the same boat you’re in. We all row together in FW! There’s so much inspirtation and motivation it’s almost impossible to not succeed in making this a long term lifestyle.

WHAT DID IT DO FOR ME?

FWTFL gave me the foundation I needed to be able to work my nutrition into my daily life without causing anxiety or being a burden. I don’t know about you but I felt like when I “dieted” it affected everything I did. I was constantly worried about the need to be a recluse because going out to eat or girls night was out of the question. Even dinner with Philip would give me so much worry because I know he doesn’t want to eat just broccoli and chicken. Now, I have zero worries. I can easily take the things I’ve learned and make the right choices that don’t hinder my progress. It’s actually kind of mind blowing to me that it works. I still eat mac and cheese and all the good stuff. I’m not saying that I just eat ice cream and pasta all of the time but knowing that I CAN and still have progress is truly a game changer. It has also taught me that working out is not the be all end all of weight loss. My nutrition and movement throughout the ENTIRE day is more important. This mindset shift also gave me the freedom to take a day off which I didn’t have before. Most of the time I do workout but I’m able to see other forms of exercise as healthy when before I needed to be lying on the floor in a puddle of sweat and pain to think I had done anything good for myself. That’s so messed up.

SO WHAT IS FASTERWAY TO FAT LOSS?

So this might seem overwhelming but all of these things are so important and mean different things to different people. I think we’re all looking for an answer on at least half of these foundations. However, none of this is overwhelming once you start the program. Everything is broken down in your six week program so that after that you can take your knowledge and put it all together. Most everyone in my group had put it all together by week 2 and were experts by week 6.

DO I HAVE TO DO THE WORKOUTS?

The short answer is no. Chances are you’re going to feel so good that you will be willing to test out the workouts. I use the strength workouts on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. On Monday and Tuesday I do HIIT runs on my treadmill or with my dog. Fridays and Sundays I rest or do some active recovery from the app. The nutrition is for sure the most important but the activity will obviously ramp up your results. My advice would be to go all in on the nutrition and as you can add in some activity – do it! You will get a ton of guidance in this area so don’t be wary.
